Operating rules

01

Tender reconciliation against sales × (1 + effective tax rate)

02

Configurable variance bands: balanced, warning, error

03

Pre-populated from POS feed where integrated

04

Per-store tax rate, timezone, and operating-hours awareness

StationPro's Daily Close compresses a 45-minute manual EOD into roughly five minutes. The form pre-populates POS-side tender, computes expected cash against sales × (1 + effective tax rate) in real time, and blocks submission when variance exceeds the configured tolerance band. Clerks confirm three numbers; the audit log writes who closed, when, with what variance, and why.

Overview

What it does.

The end-of-day form pre-populates from POS-side tender, calculates derived values (expected cash, variance, tax) in real time, and blocks submission when a variance exceeds the configured tolerance band. Built for speed. Three taps, done.

  • Tender reconciliation against sales × (1 + effective tax rate)
  • Configurable variance bands: balanced, warning, error
  • Pre-populated from POS feed where integrated
  • Per-store tax rate, timezone, and operating-hours awareness
  • Owner alert on missed close or out-of-band variance

Questions

FAQs

What does a 5-minute close actually look like?

The clerk opens the EOD form on a tablet or phone. POS tender, lottery settlement, credit-card batch, and fuel totalizer are already there. The clerk enters the till count once; expected cash, variance, and band status compute live. Under-tolerance variances are one tap to submit; over-tolerance variances require a reason code.

What if the variance is over tolerance?

Submission is blocked. The form requires a reason code (cash drop missed, refund mis-entered, deposit short, theft suspected, other). The owner gets a real-time alert with the variance amount, the reason, and a link to the audit row, before the clerk goes home, not at 9 AM the next day.

Does it work with my POS?

Yes for Verifone Commander, Gilbarco Passport (Net2 export), NCR Radiant, and Toshiba. Those pre-populate automatically. For unsupported POS, the close still works as a fast manual form with the math automated; the only thing different is the clerk enters tender totals from the X-report instead of them appearing pre-populated.

Can I configure my own variance tolerance?

Yes. Each store sets balanced, warning, and error bands (e.g. ±$0.50 balanced, ±$2 warning, beyond is blocked). The owner can also set a maximum allowed reason-code override, preventing managers from waving through repeated large variances without escalation.
