Operating rules
Customer Flow: pump customers brought inside, by hour and pump
Basket Mix: top attach pairs and dead inventory, ranked
Cohorts: repeat-visit retention by month, with churn flags
Promo Lift: incremental margin per campaign vs. baseline
Fuel net margin runs under 2%. Store sales (snacks, drinks, tobacco, food, lottery) is where convenience operators actually make money. Overview
What it does.
Stopping leaks keeps your dollars; growing store sales makes new ones. Inside Sales turns the same shift data your daily close already uses into four live tabs: pump-to-store conversion, attach-pair analysis, repeat-visit cohorts, and promo-vs-baseline lift. Open one console, work both sides of the ledger.
- Customer Flow: pump customers brought inside, by hour and pump
- Basket Mix: top attach pairs and dead inventory, ranked
- Cohorts: repeat-visit retention by month, with churn flags
- Promo Lift: incremental margin per campaign vs. baseline
- All four tabs ship in the same console as the daily close
Questions
FAQs
Do I need a loyalty program to use this?
No. Cohorts works on de-identified payment-card hashes by default, the same hashes already moving through your POS. A loyalty program enriches the cohorts with named segments but is not a prerequisite.
How is this different from what my POS reports already show?
A POS reports what sold. Inside Sales reports who walked in to make that sale, what other items they grabbed, how often they come back, and whether your promos actually moved the needle vs. a same-weekday baseline. Different question, different answer.
Will turning this on disrupt my daily close workflow?
No. The daily close runs exactly as before. Inside Sales adds four sibling tabs in the same operator console; opening any of them is optional. The two surfaces share the underlying shift data, so there is no double-entry and no separate setup.
